Medieval and Renaissance music are rarely heard in Berlin—a city otherwise bursting with musical richness. Singer Sarah Fuhs and flutist Amanda Markrwick, with their ensemble Titan’s Rising, are trying, along with a few others, to change this situation.
Launched in a café twenty years ago by Alexandra Scheibler, the Festival International Bach Montréal has grown into a major event that brings together Quebec artists and international ensembles. From the lute to the accordion, from breakdance to Baroque … the journey began thanks to a serendipitous business-class flight!

Designed at the Hochschule in Weimar, KATI generates choral harmonisations in the seventeenth-century style at the click of a button. A “chorale machine” that both relieves musicians and challenges the very notion of human creativity.
