With Mirrors, Jeanine De Bique offers far more than a recital of Baroque arias. The Trinidadian soprano places different musical incarnations of the same heroines – or comparable dramatic situations – side by side in works by Handel and his contemporaries. Developed around her first solo album, released by Berlin Classics in 2021, the programme was performed in September 2022 at Bayreuth’s Markgräfliches Opernhaus with Concerto Köln, led by violinist Yves Ytier.
