The European Early Music Network (EEMN-REMA) has just announced the nominees for its 2026 edition, recognising artists, ensembles, institutions and projects helping to shape the future of early music. Ten categories span professional development, creation and repertoire, and audience engagement.
Among the nominated projects are Young Talents for Hanseatic Music by the European Hanseatic Ensemble, queerPassion by ĀRT HOUSE, FLOS by Ensemble Gamut!, and Holland Baroque Speelt! by Holland Baroque. In the heritage field, the monumental All of Bach by the Nederlandse Bachvereniging is in the running alongside Crosswinds by Into the Winds.
The international dimension is also strongly represented, with Vox Cantoris’s Semaine sainte à Mexico (XVIe–XVIIIe s.) and EGERIA’s Aula Medieval. Digital projects are not overlooked either: Early Music Television from the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht and Team Recorder’s YouTube channel are both among the nominees. Even Farinelli enters the race, through a project by the Fundação Casa da Música in the interdisciplinary category.
A major new development this year: for the first time, the awards will be presented at a public ceremony on 25 November 2026, as part of the Early Music Summit, taking place in Bruges and Ghent, Belgium, from 24 to 27 November. A fine showcase for the vitality and creativity of today’s early music scene.
