Recital by Mariana Flores at Bayreuth Baroque (Germany)

Alongside its opera programme, the Bayreuth Baroque Festival offers a series of recitals. Under the theme ‘Teatro dei Sensi’, soprano Mariana Flores transported the audience to 17th-century Venice and to the musical and theatrical world of Francesco Cavalli, echoing the festival’s 2025 opera, Pompeo Magno. The baroque style Ordenskirche in Sankt Georgen, lit by candlelight, provided an exceptional setting for the concert. The programme revealed the richness and emotional intensity of Cavalli’s genius, whose music and theatre have inspired many composers.

With Mariana Flores, Leonardo García-Alarcón and Cappella Mediterranea.

Countertenor Dennis Orellana in China.

As part of his first tour of China, Honduran countertenor Dennis Orellana traveled to Xiamen and Beijing. In spring 2025, he had won the first Farinelli Competition for countertenors in Karlsruhe. He performed with the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Italian maestro Marco Bellei. For Orellana, the tour was far more than a series of concerts: it was the realization of a dream and an unforgettable experience, which he shared with enthusiasm on social media.
