Early Music Television celebrates its 3rd anniversary with the EMTV Award

Early Music Television (EMTV), the streaming platform launched by the organisers of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, is celebrating its third anniversary. On this occasion, EMTV will unveil a new and improved version of its platform on April 14 and will present the first-ever EMTV Award.
From April 14 to 17, early music enthusiasts can vote for their favourite concert recording from over 400 titles in the EMTV catalogue via www.emtv.online/award.
Voting opens on Monday, April 14 at 1:00 PM. The highly coveted EMTV Award will be awarded on April 18.

A new and improved platform

Born during the COVID pandemic, Early Music Television – an initiative of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht – has become the leading streaming platform for medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music.
With a catalogue of over 400 concerts, lectures and documentaries, EMTV allows music lovers from all over the world to enjoy high-quality concert recordings from the comfort of their homes.
The platform now has users in 95 countries, including the Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan.

On April 14, EMTV will launch its new website, featuring a fresh design, enhanced user experience, and new features, such as the option to purchase individual concert recordings.

The EMTV Award

Following the voting period from April 14 to 17, the concert that receives the most votes will be announced as the winner on Friday, April 18. The winning ensemble will be awarded the EMTV Award during an online ceremony.
All voters will receive a link granting them free access to the winning concert throughout the weekend.

With this award, EMTV aims to highlight the richness and quality of its offering and introduce a wider audience to its revamped platform.
