22–27 September: Festival Marin Marais in Paris

From 22 to 27 September 2026, the Festival Marin Marais returns to Paris for its 21st edition, under the artistic direction of viol player Eliaz Hercelin. After 20 years shaped by Jean-Louis Charbonnier, the festival is reinventing itself by combining early music, cross-disciplinary encounters and new landmark venues in the heart of Paris.

This edition places particular emphasis on openness: Baroque music enters into dialogue with the visual arts in unusual settings, from galleries to clubs, while remaining rooted in its heritage. The Festival sees music, like poetry, as an act of resistance against the dehumanising forces of a world that glorifies speed.

The programme opens boldly with Duo Tiggarna – Eliaz Hercelin and Christine Zayed – at Galerie Univer/Colette Colla, followed by a secret evening at Silencio Club with Lucile Boulanger. More intimate events include Eliaz Hercelin’s recital Solitude at the Temple protestant de Port-Royal, and Rêves et Folie, a dialogue between voice, qanun and viola da gamba at Galerie 24B. The closing concert, entrusted to Les Accords Nouveaux, will take place at the Église du Saint-Esprit.
