Giulio Cesare by Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques (Toulouse)

Before heading to Milan’s La Scala for L’opera seria by Florian Leopold Gassmann, Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques wrapped up their early March performances of Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse. This production marked a reunion between the conductor and director Damiano Michieletto. According to Olyrix: “Christophe Rousset’s musical direction is precise and incisive yet well-balanced, emphasizing the lyrical dimension of the score. Les Talens Lyriques deliver a subtle, nuanced, yet dynamic performance, marked by expressivity and cohesion.”
