“Phénix” with Lucile Boulanger

→Four dancers, a viola da gamba player and an electronic sound world: with Phénix, Mourad Merzouki creates a raw encounter between hip-hop and Baroque music. Around Lucile Boulanger, the piece unfolds through aesthetic friction until the hatching of a bird as unexpected as it is remarkable.

Mourad Merzouki brings together four dancers, French viola da gamba player Lucile Boulanger and French electro project Arandel in Phénix, a brief, taut piece in which hip-hop enters into dialogue with the viola da gamba. Between Baroque bow and electronic material, the production turns early music into the source of a fascinating hybridisation.
