You play several keyboard instruments from different eras—harpsichord, organ, clavichord, and pianoforte. Which is currently your main instrument, and why?
Maude Gratton: I mainly divide my time between the harpsichord, organ, and pianoforte. Since the pianoforte was not my first instrument, I am now dedicating myself to it intensively. For me, it is a new instrument with a new playing technique. It demands new repertoire, and this requires a lot of time and commitment.
