Since 2023, violinist Martyna Pastuszka—who also directs the ensemble {oh!} Orkiestra—has led the International Festival “Evenings with Telemann” in Pszczyna. Created in 1979 as a tribute to the German composer, the festival found a home in the town’s castle, saved in extremis in 1945 by a Polish captain who refused to let the Soviet army enter. Turned into a museum the very next year, this preserved setting in Upper Silesia now hosts one of the rare Polish events dedicated to baroque music, where the memory of the place meets musical rediscovery.
