Adèle Charvet: “Baroque Music Was My First Love”
At 33, French mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet returns to her first Baroque loves this season with three role debuts, including Nerone (“Agrippina”) and Poppea (“L’incoronazione di Poppea”). While she describes her voice as having become “fuller” since motherhood, she now dreams of singing Berlioz’s Didon. Between the demands of an international career and her young daughter’s disarming questions about Mozart, we meet an artist appearing this October at the Opéra de Lille (France) as Ruggiero in Handel’s “Alcina”.
