21 March 2026 marks the 14th edition of International Early Music Day. This day is a project of the European Early Music Network (REMA/EEMN), launched in 2013 on the initiative of its former president, Peter Pontvik of Sweden. REMA/EEMN, the only representative network for early music in Europe, is the official organiser and coordinator of the event. It represents 216 early music organisations in more than 29 countries. The network and its members organise concerts, conferences and other events as part of Early Music Day, but the event is of course open to all interested organisations and partners. Early Music Day is also an important online event, with concerts broadcast live to audiences around the world.
Over the years, REMA/EEMN has attracted an ever-growing number of participants, thanks in particular to partners who identify with the values promoted by this day. Internationally renowned flutists Lucie Horsch and Sarah Jeffery are the ambassadors for Early Music Day 2026.
REMA/EEMN invites all ensembles, festivals, conservatories and other musical organisations to register their activities (concerts, workshops, masterclasses or any other creative format) in the official programme. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your initiative and contribute to this joyful celebration of early music.
