Trio Tenorizans wins the NORDEM EAR-ly competition in Helsinki (Finland)

Held in Helsinki on 2 and 3 October, alongside Aria Borealis, the ninth edition of the NORDEM EAR-ly Nordic-Baltic Competition for Young Early Music Ensembles was won by Trio Tenorizans. Based in the Netherlands, the trio came out ahead of the two other finalists, il Triello (Finland) and Ensemble Abelia (Estonia/Switzerland).

Trio Tenorizans brings together Wladyslaw Lech on historical clarinet, Agata Sorotokin on fortepiano and Antonio Pellegrino on historical cello. The ensemble receives a prize of 30,000 Swedish kronor, as well as an invitation to perform at one or more festivals belonging to the NORDEM network.

The competition also awarded a special prize to Baroque violinist Martin Granström, a member of il Triello, while Ensemble Abelia has been invited to the 2027 Haapsalu Early Music Festival. Created to support the next generation of early music ensembles from the Nordic and Baltic countries, the EAR-ly competition thus combines prize money with concrete opportunities to perform across the European network.
