The Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles (CMBV) is launching Studio Baroque, a new training and career development programme for young singers and instrumentalists. Designed as a living laboratory for research, creation and interdisciplinary experimentation, it combines high artistic standards with practical preparation for a career as a musician. Studio Baroque draws on the full range of resources offered by the CMBV, a leading institutionfor early music in France for nearly forty years. Participants benefit from the expertise of researchers, teachers and specialist artists, as well as access to scores and publications, and to reconstructed historical instruments. And thanks to the CMBV’s network, they also have the opportunity to perform in prestigious venues and forge links with the professional music world. The first year, organised into eight sessions of three to five days, is designed as an in-depth immersion in the performance practices of the French Baroque repertoire. The second year is dedicated to professional integration. It combines auditions before conductors, artistic directors and agents, the preparation of promotional material, paid projects, outreach activities and an introduction to various professions within the music industry.
Launched in the run-up to the CMBV’s 40th anniversary in 2027, this programme renews the institution’s commitment to knowledge transfer, fostering emerging talent and supporting young performers. Immersion in the CMBV ecosystem is one of the programme’s unique features: it enables a close integration of learning, research, stage practice and integration into the professional world.
Applications open until 8 July 2026
