The magic of Christmas lies in both tradition and renewal. In Joy to the World, released on October 31, 2025, Chanticleer creates a dialogue between ancient repertoires and contemporary compositions.
The album combines Renaissance motets (Praetorius, Palestrina, Morales) with reimagined Christmas carols, including seven new arrangements by ensemble members and Music Director Tim Keeler.
Contemporary works complement the program, including compositions by Sarah Quartel, Steven Sametz, and two new commissions by Joanna Marsh, inspired by recent texts and exploring the winter season and the light of Christmas.
Joy to the World showcases Chanticleer’s ability to move seamlessly between tradition and modernity, offering a Christmas choral repertoire that is both faithful and refreshed.
