On 7 March 2025, the Tölzer Knabenchor (Germany) and the Concerto München baroque orchestra, conducted by Julian Wachner, will start a series of recordings of J. S. Bach’s cantatas in a line-up that Bach had wished for his own boys’ choir in 1730 in a letter to the Leipzig city council (‘Entwurff einer wohlbestallten Kirchen Music’). Under the title ‘Bach Cantatas of the Entwurff Series’, the world-famous boys’ choir will perform cantatas BWV 8, 11, 78 and 51 for a selected audience at this opening event and record them for release on CD and on social media.
