Amanda Forsythe in the footsteps of “La Francesina”

→In the final years of his career, Handel wrote for a very particular voice: that of Élisabeth Duparc, known as “La Francesina”. American soprano Amanda Forsythe offers a glimpse of it today in a programme both virtuosic and delicate.

With the Pacific Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Alexander Weimann, American soprano Amanda Forsythe explores the arias Handel wrote for his favourite prima donna, Élisabeth Duparc, known as “La Francesina”. Presented by Early Music Vancouver, this programme, spanning opera and oratorio, sheds light on the composer’s vocal art and one of its most remarkable interpreters.
