In William Christie’s Gardens at Thiré (France)
As every second half of August, William Christie, Paul Agnew and their team welcomed audiences to Thiré in the Vendée for Le Jardin des Voix. From 23 to 30 August, musical promenades and afternoon concerts set the rhythm of the days, while candlelit evening performances brought together soloists and ensembles. This 14th edition also marked the culmination of William Christie’s 80th anniversary season and celebrated the training programmes fostered by Les Arts Florissants, featuring the laureates of the 12th Jardin des Voix alongside students from New York’s Juilliard School.
With, among others, Théotime Langlois de Swarte, Thomas Dunford, Ana Vieira Leite, Les Arts Florissants, William Christie and Paul Agnew.

The Prinsengrachtconcert in Amsterdam
Flautist Lucie Horsch, countertenor John Holiday and the Amsterdam Sinfonietta were the guests of this year’s traditional Prinsengrachtconcert in Amsterdam. Since 1981, this August concert has been staged on the Prinsengracht canal, from a floating stage moored in front of the Pulitzer Hotel. Much of the audience listens from boats, while the event is broadcast live on Dutch public radio and television by Avrotros [Dutch public broadcasting association].

Barocktage Solothurn (Switzerland)
Violinist and director Rachel Podger, together with Les Passions de l’Âme, brought the Barocktage Solothurn to a close at the city’s baroque theatre. Entitled L’Ultima Pazzia, the evening featured works by Telemann, Vivaldi, Durante and Geminiani. Now in its fifth year, the festival once again offered audiences the chance to experience Solothurn and its surroundings through a baroque lens.

Ravello Festival (Italy)
Harpsichordist and director Francesco Corti, together with Il Pomo d’Oro, were the guests of the 73rd Ravello Festival, performing in the enchanting setting of the Villa Rufolo on the Amalfi Coast.

The Organs of Lucerne (Switzerland)
Organist Freddie James led audiences on a grand musical promenade through three of Lucerne’s churches: Saint-Lukas, Franziskanerkirche and Hofkirche. The themed programme, entitled PhanTastich, was dedicated to works by Byrd and Gibbons.
