The Händel House Foundation ( Halle-Germany) will participate in the European Day of Early Music on Friday, March 21, 2025, with a free lunchtime concert at 12 p.m., followed by a historical architectural tour of Handel’s birthplace.

For the lunchtime concert, students from the Institute of Music at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg will take the audience on a 30-minute journey through the soundscapes of the Baroque era. Afterward, Karl Altenburg (Händel House Foundation) will shed light on the architectural history of the Händel House, guiding visitors through the vaulted cellar and the impressive paneled room.

The European Day of Early Music is celebrated every March 21 in honor of Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday. Since 2012, this day has been dedicated to the so-called “Early Music”, with concerts, events, and happenings taking place simultaneously across Europe. An international network of cultural institutions aims to highlight Europe’s rich thousand-year-old musical heritage.
