In the sumptuous setting of Bayreuth’s Margravial Opera House, Max Emanuel Cencic turned his stage anniversary into a Handelian tribute. The countertenor, who is also artistic director of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, devoted this concert to the figure of Francesco Bernardi, known as Senesino, the great castrato for whom Handel composed some of his finest London roles. The concert took place on 10 September 2022 at the Markgräfliches Opernhaus, with Armonia Atenea conducted by George Petrou.
