Musicas Cercadas Festival in Zamora (Spain)

Anna Besson (flute) and Olga Pashchenko (harpsichord) presented a programme on the theme Bach: father and son for the closing concert of the 2025 Musicas Cercadas Festival at the Church of San Cipriano in Zamora (Spain). Exploring the connections between the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his eldest son, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, the concert illustrated the continuity of the father’s baroque legacy in the work of his son — a talented composer who, in turn, renewed and transformed the musical landscape of his time.

Avi Avital in Amsterdam… for Mother’s Day!

Mandolinist Avi Avital took part in a rather special concert in Amsterdam: to mark Mother’s Day, he appeared on Podium Klassiek, a programme on the Dutch television channel NPO2, inspired by the concept of “music on demand”. The challenge for the mandolinist was to perform live the musical requests of viewers, dedicated to their mothers.
